Recommendations from Past Students

The best feature of the blog that Mr. Spottiswoode runs is that it helps students and helped me in particular to apply the gained knowledge of economics to the real-world models and situations. This makes the understanding of the theory concepts more clear and solid, as well as supports it with real world examples.
News for the blog are carefully chosen and all of them are perfectly related to one or more of the topics we have been covering in classes.
The AQA specification awards marks for the use of Relevant examples, so in my opinion, it is worth reading the whole blog, so the chances that you will have a ready relevant example(extra marks) for a particular exam question increase.
Of course, it is very beneficial for the A-level students that the blog provides them with all the key figures from the economics world which are always up-to-date. It is important to understand what is going on in the world around you in order to succeed in economics, as at first the economics is a study of a behaviour, and not only people's behaviour, but figures' too.

For A-Level students, this blog provided more information needed for the exam,so a bigger chance to get an A in economics. More importantly, it is presented in an interesting way.

I found the blog very useful because it provides a lot of online news, articles which are closely related to Economics, the subject, which keeps me up to date with current economics events. It is also very organized, which helps me do my revision easily and effectively. I still visit the blog a few times a week after I left Bellerbys.

Spot of Economics blogs is one of the most efficient learning materials for my A-LEVEL economics study. Most of the article from there is suitable for A-LEVEL economics student. There are also lots of interesting and understandable articles to represent a particular economics situation. I found the statistical figures from the blog is extremely useful when I use it to support my arguments in the economic essay.

So, basically, the best thing about the blog is that students have a chance to learn the subject indepth but not only a level material from the book. It also helps to check the knowledge and understanding of the theory. I really like the way you present the information by making it clear, usefull and easy to follow. But the most importain I'd say is that there is a lot of current news and events explained in economic terms so that we all understand how the subject will help as and how it is used in a wider society not only for the examination purpose.

this blog is brilliant in a way that it helped me to get the deeper knowledge of economics and to see economics as a  live and interesting science. It  was like a stream of fresh air for us because you gave us amazing and  funny real world examples and just the dry theory. For me it was easier to understand several topics.

firstly, ur blog provides some essential and additional information (and ur blog contains stuff that u are currently teaching) students need, which can't find easily themselves. So it can save sometime for students as well as learning something really useful!

plus, we can, not just in the class but anytime outside the class, discuss about some economic issues with u and other students or other people who use ur blog.
